It's Swanwick!

Thanks to everyone for a fair bit of interesting discussion about destinations for the “Anywhere but Cowes Cruise”.

As far as I can tell the majority of opinion seemed to favour the Hamble. The most practical destination giving a nice-ish location, facilities and eateries seems to be Swanwick Marina. With that in mind I've provisionally booked 5 berths at Swanwick Marina for Saturday night. (We confirm with the forecast on Friday night.)

If you fancy somewhere with a bit more character that's no problem, just let me know you won't need a berth at Swanwick and book yourself into one of the myriad of small yards within easy walking distance of the rest of us.

I won't be arranging a cruise dinner but if your boat plan to eat out we can verbally make a quick plan on the day and try to all book into the same place, if that suits.

On Sunday we'll think of an excuse to have a brief informal gathering for boats that fancy it (and can make it) at Gunwharf Quays, or maybe breakfast at Owers Lake?

If we go with this Cruise format again I plan to campaign harder than ever for Beaulieu! One day I shall prevail!
