Since the last Log there have been several club events:- a mid-week cruise and two weekend cruises were very successful but the first maintenance weekend was blown away!! Gale force and severe gale force winds made it impossible to take the boats down to the piles at Itchenor. However other useful jobs were completed on the boats in the marina and many thanks go to those members who helped. By the time you receive this Log the second maintenance weekend will have taken place, we hope with better weather.

Our main social event was the Flares demonstration given by the RNLI. A good crowd of members heard a very informative talk on safety and then went outside to let off a few handheld flares - we were not allowed to let off parachute flares due to the proximity of Gatwick airport.

We have a good programme of events in the next few months. The May meeting will find some members trying their hand at Bowls and in June we are holding a BBQ at Spooners Club. Remember last year - it was a really great evening with excellent food.

We have a varied sailing programme with the highlight being the week cruise. Do get your applications for any of these events in to the organisers as soon as possible.

Many thanks to those who have contributed to this Log, but as you will see we are a bit short of articles. Please would all event organisers try to persuade somebody to write a few lines for the Log and participants, if you have enjoyed an event why not put pen to paper and tell us all about it.
