The main summer holidays are drawing to a close and I hope you have all experienced some good sailing and good weather. You can read about some of the club events in the articles below and exchange yarns at the next club meeting.

There are several cruising events in the autumn, so dig out your warm clothing and send in your application forms asap to the organisers.

Our AGM takes place on Wednesday 6th October. Do come along and support your club and share with us any ideas you have for events or cruises.

Bowls Night

This event was held on the 5th May and was a great success. Thirty members enjoyed the evening and were coached by Beryl Seal and two other members of the bowls club. I believe only two of our members had ever played bowls before, so the rest had a lot to learn! By the end of the evening we managed to get the woods somewhere near the jack! Well we managed to keep them on the rink! Many thanks to Brian for organising the evening, and to our coaches for being so patient and helpful.

BBQ Evening

The Barbeque evening on 2nd June was organised by David Bennett again as he does it so well! The weather was good and the food was as delicious as it was last year. The evening was well attended and thanks goes out to Brian and his helpers for doing the cooking. Hopefully we will be able to do it all again next year, so those members who missed out this year will get another chance to join us on this social occasion.
