The sailing season is well underway. An Easter cruise enjoyed some lovely spring weather en route to Poole. An account of Lucrece's exploits is in this Log. Next came the first maintenance weekend when Summer Song and Layla went on the piles to scrub and antifoul and the other Chichester boats reduced their 'to do list' a little. On the second maintenance weekend 2 boats went on the piles each day. The Saturday ones were lucky, but the rain did not hold off quite long enough for the Sunday boats to be antifouled. However some other useful jobs were completed. Many thanks from the boat owners to all those who helped. In between these two weekends we had a sailing weekend to Beaulieu and towards the end of April a mid week cruise. The first May bank holiday weekend started in thick fog, but 5 boats and 18 members enjoyed visiting a new harbour. See the reports in this Log. We have already had some great cruises this year and as this goes to press the second May bank holiday cruise will be underway. The June week cruise is fast approaching - if you have not yet sent in your application please phone John Alden asap. As was stated in the last issue, I would like a break from editorial duties and Jean Sandell has kindly offered to take over production of the Log. Please send all future articles to jean@sandell.co.uk. The Log is our main means of communicating with the members and my thanks to all who have written articles over the past few years and made it so interesting. I am sure you will continue to give Jean your full support. |
