Editor's Comments The clocks have sprung forward and the daffodils have decided it’s now safe to bloom, so the spring and summer sailing season has arrived at last. Well done to those intrepid sailors who braved the cold and windy weather in February and March. I gather it was really windy for David Bennett’s March weekend cruise. There are a variety of cruises to choose from – you may even do them all. Following the maintenance weekend, Alan Waller is organising the 4 day Easter cruise. Two weeks later, new members are especially welcome on the May Day cruise. For those who want to venture further afield, John Alden is organising a week long Half term cruise, followed 4 weeks later by the Four Days Cruise. Looking even further ahead is the BBQ at Spooners on July 6th. David Bennett is organising it and the cost is £11. So put it in your diary. I was disappointed not to make Nigel’s Quiz but understand that it went very well – particularly well for Ian, my other half, who was on the winning team with Betty Sollof, Mark Hitchin and Louise George. (I can assure everyone that there was nothing underhand!) Thank you Nigel for organising it. It was good to see so many people at the Liferaft and Sea Survival talk. Guy Adlington brought up many salient points that gave food for thought. The new season is a good time to check all our safety gear. Safe and happy sailing to you all. Jean Sandell PS Thank you to Pam who continues to get the Log printed, posted and delivered. |
