Middle Harbour Yacht Club, Sydney
Ashdown Sailing Club is delighted to welcome Middle Harbour Yacht Club, Sydney, Australia as our first Reciprocal Club.
MHYC is one of Australia’s leading clubs and is situated on the north shore of Sydney Harbour, about 6 miles from the Opera House across the famous Harbour Bridge. It is well served by the excellent Sydney bus services. A highlight for visitors is the summer twilight yacht race series, open to all comers.

What it means for MHYC members
Any MHYC member visiting the UK is offered all the benefits of full membership during their visit, free of charge. This entitles MHYC members to join any of our sailing events and attend social events. We know that overseas visits are often full of things to do and if our cruise dates do not suit your dates, our members are often out sailing at other times and would be happy to have MHYC members on board.

What it means for ASC members
If you visit Sydney, be sure to make time to visit MHYC, enjoy a drink at the bar or have a meal in the bistro, overlooking the waters of Sydney Harbour. During the summer, you can go sailing in the Thursday Twilight races, just be at the clubhouse about 1700hrs to book in and you can be assured of a sail, weather permitting. No experience necessary, although skippers are often grateful if you can tell a sheet from a halyard. If you cannot make Thursday evening, contact www.mhyc.com.au/contact and they will try to accomodate you on another race day.
Be sure to check with MHYC before you travel as the club is not open every day - www.mhyc.com.au
